Check out these true herringbone digital papers freebies for download and learn a bit why it’s different from chevron patterns.
So I recently posted a herringbone digital paper pack freebie but soon realized my mistake in using the term herringbone and chevron interchangeably. After all, they do look very similar and when you start to use color variations, overall they seem like similar pattern designs. Boy was I wrong! Apparently, herringbone has a distinct difference from chevron, which is what we see more often quite honestly. If you do a quick search on the internet you will learn that chevron has that zigzag look but can be sort of sliced into columns and colors varied for different effects. However, herringbone is different because it’s like using bricks at 45 degree angles to create the zig zag effect. But in the end, herringbone should have straight edges all around. So simply depending on how you vary up the color, you mist see similar zig zag pattern effects. Whew. Learned something new!
So I decided to play around with the design and create a few more papers that are true herringbone digital papers because you can see clearly that it looks like bricks laid down as flooring, simply in different colors. Of course, you could get more wild and change up the colors even more… but let’s start with pink because that is my favorite! And some neutral browns for the Fall season.

Today I have a cute little fall leaves free printable paper design. It’s a cartoon leaf shape but in two colorways, a bit of burnt orange or some darker brown for you. The summertime months always make me think of boating and nautical adventures. So I decided to design these nautical scrapbook papers using the lifesaver and anchor motifs. It’s super cute and also unisex, for any project you might have in mind. There are two colors to choose from, a more green blue and a more ice light blue as well.

Download these colored woodgrain digital paper designs to create an organic feeling background for your next papercrafting project!
So I’ve created a woodgrain stationery set printable before, but I decided to take that woodgrain design and create full-size digital papers this time around. I really wanted that simple woodgrain pattern, but in bright colors. So here is a whole set that not only has the tan and orange – more traditional wood colors – but also bright happy colors in lime green, purple, pink and yellow! I’m definitely in an era of happy colors these days.
This simple background pattern is great for all kinds of papercrafting projects. It’s has an organic feel and perfect for the summertime camping themed projects or even florals and nature related motifs.
I mostly use patterned papers in my creative journaling for collage and deco, but you can definitely use these for traditional scrapbook pages and cardmaking as well! Just download to print and create to your hearts content. Enjoy!
