Scrapbooking Supply Envy

Living in a small town in Italy means that I don’t have access to many of the popular scrapbooking supplies. The cost of buying internationally often means that shipping costs more than the item itself. What a downer, huh?

I used to struggle with envy and budgeting for my crafty hobby, but now I always turn to digital printables instead.

Scrapbook Paper Printing and Ink Nirvana

I am in love with HP Instant Ink (disclaimer: this is my affiliate link), which makes printing at home super affordable and I never have to worry about a design using too much ink or if I’ll run out of printer ink all of sudden. So seriously, it’s the best service ever and I totally feel like it’s a printer girl’s nirvana!

Thus, as a total convert to digital printables, I go the extra mile and design whatever I need for memory keeping and paper crafting projects. I’m a graphic designer, so have all the software at my figure tips, might as well take advantage of it all.

Of course, I love to share my papers with others who share the love of patterned paper and I’m so happy that it’s instant access for everyone. Basically, it’s free and accessible to everyone in the world!

Okay, now you can probably tell that I’m a fan of the pink color palette! Yes, I created a very pink floral design, is it overload?

Really though, this paper would be perfect for a little girl scrapbook or even wedding or bridesmaids crafts. Anyone who loves a little girly pink will appreciate this design.

Ways to Wrap Gift Cards + Free Printable Stars Paper

Let me share a few ways to wrap gift cards for last minute gift giving plus free printable star patterned papers that you can print and use instantly!

free printable holiday stars patterned paper + ways to wrap gift card // tortagialla.com

As we get closer to Christmas day, gift cards make it easy to quickly check off your list, especially for hard to shop for friends. Are you are on the last-minute band wagon grabbing gift cards as a last resort? Or perhaps, you actually enjoy giving gift cards, because they allow you to show your gratitude without burdening people with another generic novelty gift item?

Personally, I really love the idea of gift cards if you don’t have a very specific gift in mind for your recipient. It gives THEM the power to choose what they truly would like and eliminates the random knick knacks and junk that ends up cluttering the house.

The problem is how to package up the gift card as an actual pretty gift.

You have to admit that it’s nice to unwrap an actual gift during the holidays. The element of surprise is always a delight. But even just the aesthetics of packaging up a gift, shows that you put effort into it. I think it’s nice to add a special handmade touch to gift card giving, so check out the ideas below for wrapping them up as gifts.

Even though gift cards are easy to pick up at the store and have pretty designs on them already, I still like to put them in a pretty envelope at the least. Or even better, is to package it in a pretty box or container that you can traditionally wrap up. The extra effort of packaging it up really does make the recipient feel special and loved. And for those who are making multiples for teachers or co-workers, it’s definitely a good idea to spruce up the gift cards with a handmade component.

Well, I love paper printables and the easiest way to package up a gift card is to put it in a small box and wrap it up like a traditional gift! Even wrapping up an envelope can be a nice idea, because there’s still that element of presenting a nicely wrapped gift with a ribbon on top.

So I designed a set of simple, elegant, printer-friendly holiday stars papers to share with you. They are easy to print at home, as many copies as you might need for wrapping up small items like gift cards.

Cute Scrapbook Paper Printable – Eggs Sunny Side Up

Looking for a cute scrapbook paper printable? How about this sunny side up egg design I created, super cute and bright for your papercrafting projects.

Looking for a cute scrapbook paper printable? How about this sunny side up egg design I created, super cute and bright for your papercrafting projects.

Looking for a fun creative project?

Use these free printable egg pattern paper designs to make a travelers notebook, decorate your planner and papercraft to your hearts content!

I’ve always been a fan of eating eggs (in all ways), but really love the motif itself because somehow, it lends itself to being happy! How can you not smile with a big ‘ole yellow face looking back up at you? At least if you imagine the world as always kawaii 🙂

I was browsing a sunny side up pinterest board and created these printables for a guest post years back. But these kawaii sunny side up egg motifs are still super cute today.  I created a simple pattern in multiple colors to use as a crafty printable, see how the little eggies have a tiny happy face popping up here and there – cuteness, eh?

I used this cute scrapbook paper printable to make my own little paper notebooks.

egg pattern notebooks

It’s an easy DIY, just print the patterns on cardstock for a heavier cover and cute them to your preferred size to create a little notebook. I punched holes and sewed everything together, but you can also use staples.

These little notebooks make great gifts, but I actually carry them in my purse for notes and for my kids to draw in when we are out and about. You can visit my longstitch bookbinding tutorial if you want to know the details of sewing the book together.

A few quick bookbinding tips:

– Prefold each piece of paper to make them nicely creased and fitted together
– The thicker the paper you use, the less pieces you should use together before it gets too bulky
– Prepunch holes if you are handsewing to make the process go smoothly
– Use binder clips to hold it all together when you are punching holes and sewing
– Trim your booklet after you are finished binding to get a finished clean edge

Because the egg design was so cute, I also created a art printable with the kawaii egg face saying “life is meant to be lived sunny side up” – because I was in such a good mood working on this project! Download all the printables below for your personal use – I hope you craft away!

Looking for free scrapbook paper downloads? Here's a fun heart burst patterned paper design that you can use in all kinds of papercrafting projects.

Sometimes in my simple doodling practice, I come upon something simple and cute. I was randomly doodling and really loved this heart burst motif, so I decided to digitize it and make it a repeating patterned paper.

The design definitely makes me think of textiles and batik printed fabric designs. With the magic of graphic design tools, I took the drawing into Illustrator and made it a repeat pattern. I think it’s a really nice background paper for scrapbooking and journaling.

What will you do with this free patterned paper design? I think printable papers are super versatile, you can use them for a variety of projects. Just download and print whenever you need it!
