I joined in on the challenge hosted by miavibes and megjournals on Instagram called #junkjournaljanuary and here is my junk journal flip through.
If you don’t already know, junk journaling is a form of art journaling that involves “junk” or found papers. Basically, anything you have around the house, in order to reuse the junk you have and upcycle it into art. There are many variations and everyone sort of does their own thing. From vintage papers, to modern day junk mail or patterned papers that aren’t really “junk” to begin with.
It’s really all up to you – but the idea is to not be too precious about journaling. Rather, to simply create and do something creative. After finishing up my junk journal, I decided to share a flip through to show all the pages I’ve created, however simple they may be.
I really encourage you to get creative and try out junk journaling if you want something without pressure. It’s an easy way to get creative every day and you don’t have to create in chronological order or necessarily paint. I find it to be more collage based… but that’s just me. I mostly spent a few minutes each day, very doable for all. Here are the pages I created for the month in my junk journal flip through…
If you want to see how I made this junk journal, check out my video of the process here https://youtu.be/B9_ilVTRSUo
You know those classic vintage red labels? They make great embellishments in papercrafting, but not easy to find. Download and print your own instead!
Recently, I was on the search for the classic red label sticker and it seems these days there are a lot of variations and fancy ornamental labels out there. But really, I just wanted to super simple and classic versions. So I thought I could just as well design them up, so here’s a printable version of the classic vintage red labels for your papercrafting pleasure.
This PDF download includes 4 pages of vintage red label designs. From the classic small rectangle label, to a larger rectangle version to a square version and finally a circle version. You can use these printable red labels for so many papercrafting ideas.
I’ve been getting into junk journaling, so created these exactly for that purpose. I think there’s something beautiful about the simplicity and boldness of the red label… so I wanted to incorporate these in my junk journal pages.
However, you can also use these printable labels for your planners, labelling items in the house as well as tags and papercrafting projects. Really the possibilities are limitless with such a classic vintage red label design.

Here’s a peek into my process of how to make a junk journal, specifically for #junkjournaljanuary this time around. It’s super easy to do!
This year, I decided to join in with the Instagram challenge #junkjournaljanuary and made this quick journal for this particular challenge. I’ve used a mix of papers from my stash, magazine pages from Flow Magazine and the cover is an old handmade pocket journal from the past. Check out my process and thoughts in the video below.
If you don’t already know about junk journals, I highly suggest you try it out! It’s an easy and fun way to get creative, but without all the pressure of art journaling that often has drawing or painting associated with it. Technically, you can do anything in your junk journal, but at it’s simplest, you can just collage and mix and match papers and vintage items for a very cool look.
I’m just getting into junk journals lately because I’m short on time and find it super easy and satisfying to create in a junk journal. I’m excited to perhaps create more printables around this style… and if you are looking for the vintage style, check out my free vintage paper printable here and these vintage journaling cards here. They can help to give you a head start in your junk journal creations.
Art Journalling has been a blessing in disguise this past year. A place to express myself with marks, colors, images and journaling! I decided to take a look back on the many journals I have created. It’s a way to say goodbye to 2018 and welcome 2019 with open arms.
Do you like to art journal? How often do you actually look back at your old journals and flip through? It can be very satisfying to see what you have created, but also helps you to see your growth, your change, over time. I hope you enjoy and thank you for watching!
Are you ready to get organized and fire up your planner game? Download these FREE blank calendar pages that give you structure but also flexibility.
Each of us leads a very different lifestyle, so we have to customize our calendars and planning styles accordingly. A blank slate will give you flexibility, but still start you off with a barebones structure. That’s exactly the kind of thing I like – freedom to do what I want, but some guidance to start with!
Since I love to use printables, I’ve created a couple sets of printable calendars for the next evolution of my planning. I love how digital printables enable me to constantly tweak my planning layouts. I’m always reviewing my planning habits and changing things, so that I can improve my productivity!
This year, I’ve come up with a new set of perpetual blank calendars to cater to my planning needs. They are all Monday start layouts, because I find that it make more sense with my schedule, grouping the weekend together for weekly and monthly views. Otherwise, they are blank so that I can fill in the details as I need and decorate (or not decorate) as I please.
This set of perpetual blank calendar pages includes:
DAILY PAGE
All 24 hours are noted, because I like to visually see the entire day and be able to track things, don’t forget sleep is important!
WEEKLY PAGE
There’s a box for every single day and habit tracker area plus notes list
MONTHLY CALENDAR
Includes enough rows to give each day it’s own box (I dislike squishing two days in one box at the end of the month on other calendar layouts)
YEARLY PAGE
It’s a year-long list format, so you can see the whole year at a glance and list birthdays or track habits. It’s also great for overview planning, blocking off with colored pens and highlighters.
This printable set includes both portrait as well as landscape layouts, so download your preference!
You can download ALL these printables for FREE and for personal use only. Yup, I’m offering them up for you in hopes that they might help you get organized and plan for success!
The great thing about printables is that you can use them over and over again, print however many you need and even restart if you make a mess of a page. No worries! It’s super flexible and affordable!

Let me share a few ways to wrap gift cards for last minute gift giving plus free printable star patterned papers that you can print and use instantly!
As we get closer to Christmas day, gift cards make it easy to quickly check off your list, especially for hard to shop for friends. Are you are on the last-minute band wagon grabbing gift cards as a last resort? Or perhaps, you actually enjoy giving gift cards, because they allow you to show your gratitude without burdening people with another generic novelty gift item?
Personally, I really love the idea of gift cards if you don’t have a very specific gift in mind for your recipient. It gives THEM the power to choose what they truly would like and eliminates the random knick knacks and junk that ends up cluttering the house.
The problem is how to package up the gift card as an actual pretty gift.
You have to admit that it’s nice to unwrap an actual gift during the holidays. The element of surprise is always a delight. But even just the aesthetics of packaging up a gift, shows that you put effort into it. I think it’s nice to add a special handmade touch to gift card giving, so check out the ideas below for wrapping them up as gifts.
Even though gift cards are easy to pick up at the store and have pretty designs on them already, I still like to put them in a pretty envelope at the least. Or even better, is to package it in a pretty box or container that you can traditionally wrap up. The extra effort of packaging it up really does make the recipient feel special and loved. And for those who are making multiples for teachers or co-workers, it’s definitely a good idea to spruce up the gift cards with a handmade component.
Well, I love paper printables and the easiest way to package up a gift card is to put it in a small box and wrap it up like a traditional gift! Even wrapping up an envelope can be a nice idea, because there’s still that element of presenting a nicely wrapped gift with a ribbon on top.
So I designed a set of simple, elegant, printer-friendly holiday stars papers to share with you. They are easy to print at home, as many copies as you might need for wrapping up small items like gift cards.
Download the 12×12 inch printable PDFs below, in your preferred color and wrap away.
If you want to get a bit more creative, check out these other ideas I found around the web. There really are so many creative ways to use paper to wrap up your gift cards:
DIY Gift Card Holder Pocket: Follow this tutorial with your favorite cardstock, printable paper or wrapping paper even, to make a holder for your gift cards.
These Christmas gift tags are cute and perfect for finishing off your gift wrapping. Download this free printable to instantly up your gift wrapping game.
There are many lovely Christmas printables available out there, but I was looking for something easy to use. I wanted something printer-friendly and easy to prepare when needed in bulk.
So I decided to design my own set Christmas gift tags with cute little designs. My illustrations are in a pastel palette, but still appropriate for kids, adults, men and women. There’s also no waste of paper as you simply cut the paper into 8 equal parts. These gifts tags are super quick and easy to use.
Formatted on both LETTER and A4 sized paper, you can download whatever paper size you normally use at home. Print the PDF at actual size and then trim the paper equally in half, half and again to get 8 tags. No fussy cutting, no trimming off paper edges or confusion with fancy shapes. These are super easy and quick so that you can print and trim a whole bunch in no time. You can even ask your kids to help out with this crafty project.
I definitely needed these tags for my gift wrapping this season, so I hope you will enjoy using them as well. However many presents you are adding under the tree, these gift tags will surely come in handy.
They are actually super versatile, because you can definitely use them in scrapbooking as well. Use as embellishments or cardmaking pieces or cut out the illustrations for DIY decor for a variety of projects. I really love the designs because they are classic, but with a unique twist.
Download your preferred paper size below and print on cardstock if you want to punch a hole and string through some festive ribbon for decoration. However, I actually printed on regular printer paper and washi taped them down onto my gifts.
