My Design Motivations
Intolerance of any kind seems to be a common problem when you flip through news outlets these days. It’s such a horrible thing, yet we all do it to some degree or another. Judgement of others, rejection of others… or even ourselves!
I want to create something positive and happy to share with you all, so I though the phrase “Create, don’t hate” would be perfect. Because truly, it all comes down to that.
Hate just doesn’t serve us at all… it’s the root of so many problems in our society. Rather, whatever issues may be, it’s creation that will help us find the way. Find solutions, think creatively, make love… all that good stuff. Create!
I know that I’m just a little designer at her desk, tackling the everyday issues of life – like many of you! With all the big issues of this world, it seems impossible to make change. But really, all we have to do is concentrate on creation. Create beautiful things, joyful things, happy things… good things. The more creation there is, the more it will weed out all the other negative stuff – or at least, help to overpower it!
So that’s what this art printable is all about. A simple graphic design with my favorite colors. You can download this letter sized printable to put up all around you house, workplace, planners, art journals – or plaster it up all over the neighborhood!

When it comes to planning and scheduling my work and personal life, one thing I love to see is an overview. It really helps me to see a bird’s eye view of everything that is going on for a whole year!
From project timelines to vacations and high-level milestones, a yearly calendar overview is a really helpful planning tool for work and home. The great thing about a printable calendar overview is that you can print multiple copies to separate out categories if you wish!

So I’ve created a project calendar template that helps me to see all my projects on a yearly calendar. It’s high-level and not meant for all the details of course.
But when I map out all the timelines and milestones, I can see where things overlap, where I have room in my schedule and if anything needs to be adjusted.
I truly think it’s a necessity when it comes to planning long term and looking out into the future.

Yearly Calendar View
It’s never too early (or too late) to start planning and getting organized. I love yearly calendar printables because they give me that at-a-glance view of the entire year.
Here’s a freebie printable I created that is a bit more chic and modern in style. You can use it directly in your paper planner or print to attach to your office space, cubicle, desk, fridge at home… the possibilities are endless.
Yearly Calendar as Habit Tracker
Besides using this as a reference tool to see the date and days for the entire year, it makes a great habit tracker as well. Let’s say you want to workout daily. Just print a copy, write workout and tape it to the wall next to your workout shoes or gear. This way, every time you successful do the habit, you circle the date or X the date. Whatever you prefer. Super easy way to transform a calendar into a habit tracker.

Need Ideas To Keep The Kids Busy?
When my kids are home for the whole summer, it can be a real challenge to get them active and learning… when the tendency to be lazy and sloth-like is so strong, especially if it’s super hot. But even during the normal school year, I often find myself forgetting some of the amazing activities we have done in the past… I need more activity ideas to present to them!
I realized it was time to make a list and get all the ideas into one place, so we could reference a list whenever we need inspiration. That’s how the idea for this printable came to be… a functional printable that helps you document all the kid activity ideas that work for you and your kids!
Activity Ideas Brainstorming
I designed a printable sheet with a couple categories to help with my brainstorming and documentation process. Sometimes I need the kids to entertain themselves (more often than not!) but I also want them to be doing educational activities and something enriching – as much as possible – rather than vegging out in front of the television.
So I created a few categories, to make sure we hit some major building blocks of growth. From reading to exercise to field trips to DIY craft time – and finally a more column as a catch-all for all other ideas.
As the days go by, I keep adding to my list and printing more sheets as necessary. There are so many different activities to propose to the kids, so here’s just a few ideas for you to add to your printable sheet:
reading a new book
acting out a well-loved book in storytime theater style
head to the library or bookstore for browsing books
try kids yoga videos together
make your own mini zines with paper (or write your own story)
exercise challenges like 50 jumprope or other milestone
create an obstacle course
visit a museum, discovery center, garden (you can create a bucket list)
How many ideas can you think of? One thing that has helped me is to look back through my camera roll of photos and scrapbooks. Those are great places to jog our memories about great experiences and activities!

The great thing about printables is that you can find any theme that your kids prefer. I’ve created a page of cute dino characters that works for both boys and girls. They make a lovely coloring page for the little ones who love cute character dinosaurs.
Coloring Page Activity Ideas
Of course, I know that coloring pages might seem like a mundane activity. Technically, the kids can just draw on white paper, if nothing else. But you can mix things up and give them a few prompts or challenges that will make the coloring time activity more fun.
Consider making it a challenge if you have more than one child. Who can color up the page faster without scribbling? Who will win the contest of best colored page?
How about musical chairs coloring page style – so that every time the music changes they have to switch colors that they are using! There really are a lot of ways to make coloring time fun, yet still relaxing and less chaotic for you the parent!
