FREEBIE: Christmas Paper Printable Free Downloads

Hello folks!  Just wanted to say thank you to all who visit my blog and check out my designs.  If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I started out cardmaking traditionally but switched to all digital, so that I could use my own designs and print the card when I actually would send them out.  I am a bit sad today, because I found out that a group I was part of online removed all my photos in the ning group because they were digital and not real cards.  They only want real handmade cards and photos of them.  Sigh…sort of sad.  I understand groups have their own rules and such…but it’s sad to think that somehow my digital designs are just not worthy enough.  I can make anything on the computer since it’s accessible to me, but I can’t buy everything I want from all the great scrapbooking and cardmaking stores out there.  Boo hoo.

I’m definitely a bit down today, but I can’t let it stop me from doing what I want to do and enjoy the process of creating.  The latest Digital Tuesday challenge is themed for holiday wishes, so I decided to participate with a digital card design.

Snowman shaped card

The latest challenge at Dare You to Digistamp Blog is to make a shaped card.  I decided with the cold frosty air and winter approaching to create my own snowman digi stamp.  The whole card would be the snowman shape, until of course I encountered the arms!  Slight alteration and finally decided on my card design below.  It is supposed to open from the fold on top of the hat.

Free Printable Digital Papers – Halloween Card

Check out these free printable digital papers in Halloween theme for all your holiday papercrafting needs.

free printable halloween digital papers

I love to design my own digital papers and print out cards at home, but sometimes you can run out of ink pretty quickly. So I started to think about creating printable designs that were specifically made to use less ink in general. if possible.

The latest Dare U 2 digistamp challenge is themed around colors, so I decided to create a digital printable card keeping low use of ink in mind. Here is the halloween themed card I came up with, using a variety of pattern papers. It’s just a digital card design layout that I created, having fun with the prompt – all just for fun.

Since I designed all the graphics for this card, I thought it would make sense to share the digital papers with you as well. Feel free to use them for your personal projects at home.  You can print them out and hopefully it won’t use up all your printer ink either!  Enjoy below each design.

Singing Doll Boy Panel for Pillows

Can you believe that winter is fast approaching?  The temperatures are dropping day by day and I find myself more and more inclined to hibernate in bed!  Today happened to be especially rainy and stormy with massive winds battering everything outside.  Scary!  I am snuggling indoors, thankful that the internet allows me to connect with you folks despite the weather and distance.

This weather also makes me pretty lazy and groggy feeling and real work assignments are starting to pile up! However, I seem to have no issues working on creative distractions, such as the doll panel fabric design for the latest Spoonflower theme. I have seen many cute girl doll designs and matrioska doll panels, so really wanted to go in a different direction for my design.  I thought it would be nice to create something for a little boy and have been tending towards eyes closed, mouth open type of faces.

I designed a singing doll boy, winter themed and although it is compact enough to be cut to exact shape, I added the snowflake background so I can make a doll/pillow.  What do you think? Bit blurry in this graphics but you can also see it within the spoonflower designs.

I still have to learn a bit more regarding colors printed on fabric, because many times the swatches arrive looking quite different from the intended design colors.  Either way it is exciting to be able to create your own fabric designs and get them printed.  I will be testing this design out and making little pillows for a plushie show this December as well.  BTW, did you know Spoonflower now allows you to buy fabric direct from their website? FREEBIE: drawing of an elf and music papers

Another Digital Tuesday Challenge when I practice a bit of digital design and with the theme of music I decided to create a music note paper background.

You can download the grayish version or black and white version of the digital paper below.

For the focal point of my design, I created a cute drawing of an elf – he’s singing with his eyes closed. What do you think of my card design? I purposefully left the background all in black and white to make the elf pop!

Free angel printable and paper designs

Another week, another Digital Tuesday Challenge for sharpen up my creative skills. I’m all for heart-filled designs and delighted to work on this heart theme for the week. I’ve actually already designed some heart-motif freebies previously, but decided to do something brand new for today.

Thinking of hearts made me think of a guardian angel, so I created a cute little angel girl drawing and some matching paper designs. Here’s the card layout I created after creating all the elements digitally.

I’m always happy to share my work as I’m still learning so much. Feel free to download the digital files below for your own personal use.

The angel printable makes a great coloring page that is super cute for kids as well. They can color it up and send as a guardian angel wish to friends and family! You can also print the line drawing as a digital stamp for cardmaking. And I’ve also included the PDFs of the background papers I created in purple and red for more creative fun.

Spoonflower bud fabric pattern

I am loving Spoonflower and all the great designers currently using their platform. It’s not cheap to design and print your own fabric, but the satisfaction of having created something from scratch really drives you to make the best possible product in the end. I also love the empowerment their platform is giving to designers such as Liz Scott, who  runs Wonderfluff on Etsy – her own fabric designs printed using Spoonflower. I can’t wait until they go out of beta and enable you to sell your fabric designs direct to the public.  It’s great innovation and a grand opportunity for all of us.

I’ve seen so many great designs and professional fabric patterns from independent designers, it’s really fantastic that so many people have been empowered. There’s also a great community as well – designers who are all passionate about textile design. Very cool stuff! The internet has given all of us the possibility of communicating worldwide and now there are companies popping up to help with business and manufacturing – Spoonflower, Etsy, Lulu, Blurb…to name a few. I wonder what other innovations will pop up via the internet for independent designers and artists? It’s definitely a fast changing world out there and supremely exciting!

After creating my birdie pattern and realizing it would make great fabric for PJs, I signed up with Spoonflower and ordered a swatch to see how the colors will turn out.  It’s so exciting to be able to have such power of creation upon my hands…woohoo!  Also, there was a special theme presented for competition on Spoonflower, a fabric design with spoon and flower design(s) incorporated somehow.  I decided to take part and created a spoonflower bud pattern.  A simple repeating design with bright colors that I think would make a nice tablecloth or napkins! What do you think?
