For the letter U, I chose the word undecided, because so many things are undecided in life and it reminds me of how we had to chose our majors in college – the stressful thought that you had to decide what to be for the rest of your life! It can be a negative thing if you struggle with indecisiveness…but it can also be such a hopeful thought, to know that life has not yet been written…you make it happen! I’m going with two-pagers now since I have the space in this journal. I’m getting close to the end of this series and it’s so amazing how a little bit a day really adds up. This is such a great experience and helps me to realize through practice that a big project can be broken down into digestible parts…

For the letter T, I chose the word thankful…especially fitting as Thanksgiving is coming up. However, I think any time of the year is a great time to be thankful for those things you have and enjoy in life…some doodles…

For the letter S, I chose the word sorry. It’s a bit sad I guess…or maybe just blushing all the time when you do something silly and go “oops!” I feel that I am sorry for so many things at times and not sure if that means I’m just not confident enough about myself. We shouldn’t be apologizing all the time, right? And when we make mistakes, we just have to learn… but it’s hard at times. Sorry for this… sorry for that…bah… it’s a rainy day here (again) so I guess I’m just feeling melancholy…

For the letter R, I chose the word restless… when the monster wants to come out and wreak havoc, right? 🙂 I didn’t feel like coloring him in, so ended up just creating a frame around him with some watercolor.

I suppose if I had chosen the word peace yesterday it would match nicely with today…my word for Q is quiet. Peace and quiet…we all need it…and it’s not about being anti-social or grumpy. We all need alone time and certain projects require the solitude and tranquility, I think. That’s what I feel anyway. I did a bit of doodling and watercolor, but often don’t get the intensity I want from watercolor. So I went over with some markers…hehe…

I actually had a hard time choosing a word for the letter P. Lots of negative words popped up in my mind, but I didn’t want to settle for any of them. No poo-poo-ing today! So finally I settled upon the word possible. Anything is possible… we must not limit ourselves, right? I just did a bit of drawing and watercoloring… sort of crazy messy 🙂

For the letter N, I chose the word naughty and nice and funny how I realized now that I used the word “and” instead of “or” – I guess that’s unconsciously revealing the two sides of all of us…hehe. I first started just doodling, but didn’t like my scary santa so collaged over him with papers. Still turned out a bit scary looking, but I had fun collaging. I really love the papers that have so many fibers in them…warm and fuzzy!

For the letter M, I chose the word magicamente, which is Italian for magically. I actually ripped it off the box of my coffee flavor for today’s page. I always refer to creating things as “magic” because it does seem so amazing that raw materials can be transformed into something so beautiful…whether a piece of cloth into a dress or paint into a masterpiece. The world of creating things has always been like magic to me. I went off writing on this page and just got sucked into the soothing repetition of doodling patterns…

For the letter L, I chose the word lonesome. We can all feel a bit lonely at times, even if there are lots of people around us. It’s about our feelings inside really. I realize it’s hard to see, but there’s black on black doodling in there…
